Java adverts are slowing my computer to a crawl

I have noticed recently that many websites that I visit have started to replace their old .jpg adverts with new java ones - I assume so that adblockers are bypassed.

However, for some reason whenever java is displayed, my computer slows to a crawl. I use Firefox and have a decent spec pc [P4, 512MB RAM] so I assume there is something I can do to end this slowdown?

Perhaps unclick 'enable java' under the >tools>options>content menu option?

OK - I have tried that, hopefully won't affect my browsing too much.

You have the latest Java machine on your computer?
