Rockman ZX; I officially want this game.

I've been following the progress of Rockman ZX for a while. For those who haven't, it's the first real DS MegaMan platformer (MegaMan Battle Network DS doesn't count, that was a GBA port, and it was an RPG, not a platformer). It appears to be a sequel to the MegaMan Zero series.

For plot information and screenshots and magazine scans and artwork, check these links.

The art style is definitely based on the Zero series. It seems to take place much later in the future. Read the story translated in the links for more info. These two humans find some kind of 'live metals' that let them take the form of certain reploids from the past. including MegaMan X and Zero (finally, X and Zero together in a handheld game).

We've just had a new trailer released.

It shows brief snippets of game footage, then quickly shows flashes of four other forms we haven't seen before.

Apparently, Harpuia, Fefnir, Leviathan, and Phantom are playable forms as well.

Anyone who has played the Zero series will know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyone who hasn't will scratch their heads.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this game. It looks like it combines the best part of the the X and Zero games. I wonder if you'll be able to steal boss powers...one of the stages looks like the first stage from the original MegaMan X.

Now I just have to decide if I'm going to import or wait for a US release...

Looks kind of like a girl to me...

EDIT: Oh, duh, that's probably because one of the main characters is aparently a girl.

In that case, then they both look kind of like girls. :P

For the Zero series, I only played the Japanese version. I remember that in the American release (of the first game, at least) they'd removed all the bloodspray. If they're going to continue doing that import will definitely be necessary for me.

Because it's a video game.

I remember it being because the robots are such realistic replications of humans that they bleed fluids in the same way as people. No, don't ask what. Maybe it's oil or something.

I can't remember where I read that, but I do remember it as such. I don't know if it's official or fannon or just the rantings of some guy on the Internet who nobody litened to but me.

Why do Robots have DNA?

It's the MegaMan X-verse...and apparently they do....and a computer virus became communiable much like a biological virus...

If you played MMX4, you'd remember that when Double went evil and cut those reploids up, they sparyed blood/oil everywhere.

I think it's a weird translation thing, but I've never gotten that. Maybe the Reploids are really Cylons, I don't know.

In japanese, Soul and DNA are used more or less interchangably, since they use the same root.

As for the 'virus', I call it a free floating plasma blob with malicious intent and be done with it. It is in no way, shape, or form, similar to any real world virus I am aware of, aside from the fact that it 'infects' people.
