Shamelessly nicked from the front page of VGCats for those who don't follow the site, I bring you this.
I'm actually getting giddy as I watch this. The knowledge you'd have to have about the level layout, enemy and power-up placement, plus combined with the split-second reactions you'd need to take those narrow ledges at full sprint is simply amazing.

Have you seen the Super mario 64 in less than 21 minutes run?
Also impressive.
Quite simply, 1337

Genius is always allowed some leeway, once the hammer has been pried from its hands and the blood has been cleaned up.
To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.

I've seen the Mario 64 in under 16 minutes, it's even more impressive. But that one was done with savestates.DEATH wrote:Have you seen the Super mario 64 in less than 21 minutes run?

I've also seen Mario 3 in under 5 minutes, that one is ridiculous.

A couple hundred speed runs there. Even Final Fantasy games. And the one that scared me. Metroid Prime in an hour.
Dang, that was sweet. Nice competition, too... the first player managed to catch up after being behind for most of the beginning. And both finished within a split second of each other. Good to see that old-school gaming still gets the respect it desreves.

Aw, I was expecting something more serious than that. I mean come on, you could have avoided those fireworks Player One. Anyway, in terms of sweetness nothing really beats the Metroid Prime speed run. Poor game developers never intended for you to jump on that little nick in the wall and get the space jump in the first thirty minutes of the game.
