Never, EVER get this Biostar motherboard

I'm talking about the socket 939 Tforce 6100.

First, integrated ethernet doesn't work, and this is a problem many people have with the mobo, which I conveniently didn't know much about until I put my system together. Newegg pulled the item from their site, and put it back up again sometime in Feb.

Secondly, the miserable piece of shit won't let a PCI NIC do its job. The NIC that worked fine in another computer has the same problem as the integrated ethernet. No matter what ethernet interface, the same shit - Windows reminds you that the network cable is unplugged EVERY TWO FUCKING SECONDS. Now tell me, what fucking tard in QC didn't catch this garbage?

No driver I have tried will work, and formatting doesn't do anything. Fuck BIOS upgrades, they aren't helping anyone else. I would really hate to send this mobo back, because I didn't have much luck getting my s754 processor out of the mobo (chipped CPU thanks to superglue Artic Silver 5), and I don't want to go through this bullshit again. It is a huge pain in the ass to stuff things into a microATX case.

Biostar? They're right down there with FIC and Elitegroup. Honestly, skimping on a motherboard is about the worst choice you can possibly make when buying parts...too many no-name scrubshops out there.

It was recommended as a good mATX case by some people I talk to, and many of the reviews said "just get nforce drivers, and avoid the ethernet from the included CD". There was a 6150 mATX mobo that I wanted, but it was sold out, and other 6100 boards got bad reviews. LOL... I hate myself.

My DFI Nforce3 mobo going bad is one of the things which prompted me to go pci-e. And DFI isn't exactly another ECS. Chalk it up to low quality control standards in the PC hardware industry.

Stupid question maybe, but did you disable the onboard NIC? It could be conflicting with the PCI one.

If you got it from newegg, just send it back. It's really easy and since it's basically defective they might waive the restocking fee if you ask them.

Anyone have any experience with EPoX boards? The one I want has great reviews on newegg.
