An aquaintance of mine is having trouble with her laptop. her 2 and p keys are staying down when pressed are and sometimes not entering the right information.

With a desktop keyboard you could just pop the letter off or get a new $5 keyboard but with a laptop I would think it is a bit more delicate.

Does anyone have any idea what advice I can give her to solve this problem?

You can still pop laptop keys off, it's not that big a deal. Keyboards are made for pounding; they'll take a fair bit of abuse.

And I find it inconceivable that her laptop wouldn't have a keyboard or USB port. If the laptop keyboard itself won't work after repairs commence, just buy a cheapo USB keyboard.
