Is there any OSS drivers for peripherals?

Specifically, I'm looking for drivers and other software for my Logitech MX5000. Since I'm planning on at lesat daul-booting in a couple of weeks, I'd like to be able to take full advantage of keyboard when I'm running under linux. The keyboard and mouse are still recognized under linux, but there's no feedback to the display on the keyboard.
As a side not, if this software does exist for linux, is there a windows port of it? Having more control of the display would be nice (like actually getting IM alerts).
