Digital Camera Problem...

I've got a praktica DC-42 digital camera, and in the last week every time I've tried to take a photo with it, the flash has triggered and then the camera has turned itself off without taking a picture.
Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it?
I've tried the usual stuff, changing the flash settings, exposure and all that as well as swapping the batteries, but none of it has done any good.
