Wow. Robin Williams created a creature so amazingly wrong for evolution that the game refused to go on any further and took the honorable path by commiting sepuku...

I'm impressed.

I'm also impressed by this game, it's going to be something else indeed if it delivers on everything it's looking to deliver on. The greatest thing is going to be the taking creations that were made by other players and adding them to your game.

I don't like how it looks like the space part seems focused on the player's UFO. I was hoping for a more macro feel, I guess.

The control system in that game really is intuitive. I could tell how to work it just from watching it (Creature Editor in particular), and I liked how it was all pictographic. No text.

Plus, Robin Williams just made the whole thing even better. I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. It was stunning to watch...

They were just flying around showing a bunch of stuff. You can use the UFO to terraform planets, which means that you could just fly to another world and set up a whole 'nother planet's worth of your race. Build a galactic empire!

And while your setting up that planet, your first planet is being neglected. With control confined to the spaceship, you can only be in one place at one time.

It's not like they'll just stand around idly while you muck about on the other planet. Or did you not see the cities of the creatures milling about?

I know they won't just be doing nothing.

I just don't like how all the control is focused on the UFO (inaccurate name, by the way). It's a matter of taste, I suppose.

I'm really impressed with Robin Williams' interview, after the presentation. He seems to actually know what he's talking about, in terms of gaming. I'm also impressed that all of the creatures can be compressed into only 3kbytes.

He's a HUGE gamer. He loves playing BF2 and WoW, especially. And he named his daughter Zelda.

While I'm waiting for the d/l all of tonight and tomorrow morning, is there anything new related to the game besides the standard "ZOMFG THIS GAME WILL ROCK!!!111" and "ROBIN WILLIAMS IS TEH FUNNY!!11!!" that we haven't seen previewed in previous clips?

...Is that seriously why he named her Zelda? I find that oddly ironic considering that I can think of no girl that looks less like princess Zelda. Not long enough hair, and not enough blond....and a strong aversion to pink dresses.

...It's 30 minutes of actual in-game demonstration. Robin Williams comes up there and makes a creature on the spot.

She doesn't look like Zelda because she has short black hair? :| Ever heard of a wig?

He is a fan of the Legend of Zelda series, when asked if he named his daughter after Zelda Fitzgerald, he replied, "No, Miyomoto".

Yeah, downloading the vid now, will edit with comments later.

This was cool, and watching Robin Williams make a creature so bad it crashed the game was hilarious.

This game looks quite interesting, I must say.

I'm definately getting this game, and I'm going to upgrade my computer for it too.

I wonder if I can make a sentient carniverous tree?

From what I can see there won't be fleet engagements either....

oh well, maybe with one of the 59 expansion packs that'll probably be released for it.

That was entirely funny, even the parts that didn't have Robin Williams blaspheming nature were witty. It's worth watching if you've had any interest in this game.

I loved Robin's lines of "Now the Christians are saying, 'no, no, you shouldn't be doing this'" and "obviously there's an open bar in heaven" while talking about how horribly wrong his creature was.

Because, you know, it doesn't do enough already. :P

Each creature is more or less some basic setup information and then the game will generate the details. They're not transmitting 3D models and textures over the 'net.

Babies' hair generally isn't very long when they're being named, and any inclination toward or away from pink dresses will still be a long way off, and Zelda's hair wasn't always blond in the games, anyway.

Parents also usually don't give their children names with the hope that they'll grow up to look like their namesakes...
