Ah....pretty HD quality trailer.

I can confirm the nuclear explosion is even more impressive in realtime.

You know, this might be finaly a sequal to Ground Control in terms of gameplay.

If they don't destroy buildings by shooting it with rifles, it'll be BETTER than GC1. :)

If I understood correctly, damage is realisticly modeled. So no worries there.

How about combat ranges and probability of hits though? How realistically will they be modeling that?
I do know how to spell

I'm not sure, they havn't said anything about that. I'll be trying to get into the beta(I was in the Ground control 2 beta) or atleast pop off a question.

Could be a large explosion, the other nuclear explosion in the trailer was too short to see anything other then the explosion.

Pretty sure it's just a very large bomb. They make mushroom clouds too, you know.

It looks too big to be a very large bomb. Perhaps it's a small tac-nuke like the Davy Crocket? But I'm not too familiar with how much damage high yeild bombs and low yeild bombs are supposed to do.

Ace Pace said "I can confirm the nuclear explosion is even more impressive in realtime" which led me to believe that the screencaps shown included a nuclear explosion.

Personally, I could see it being a fuel-air bomb or something like that.

If realistic weapon ranges are incorporated into this I will have to throw out my keyboard due to drool overload.

It only takes out a small cluster of buildings; why is that too big for a conventional bomb?

Looking again at the trailer, the nuke is very impressive but not that accurate.

It unfurls into it's full fireball size very quickly(2-3 seconds) and no trees are currently being flattened(in the trailer).

Uh...seems gamespot took that movie down and with the movie being 70MB, it'll be complicated for me to upload.

I'm not trying to say that chemical explosives couldn't cause that much destruction, just that the United States doesn't have any conventional bombs that big at the time of the game (late 80s). Up until very recently, I don't think the US had anything larger than 2000 lb, because if you needed something bigger you might as well use a tac-nuke. Can a two-thousand pound bomb do that?

Who says it's a US bomb? It could be a FAB-9000 :)

According to the Gamespy people, its from a game where the Russians "nuked" a town that the US were in.
