X2 Temps Compare

So, I'm hoping to get some temp comparison info for my AMD X2 4200+. It seems to be running pretty hot, but multiple reappliactions of AS5 + heatsink haven't made any difference. Anyway, here it goes:
Equipment:
AMD X2 4200+ ~@1.35V
CNPS7000B-AlCu /w AS5 @1350RPM - 2600RPM (>45C)
Room Temp: 29C
Idle Temp (CnQ): 36C
Idle Temp: 42C
50-60% usage (1 core plus background): 54C
Full Load (Prime 95 x2 ): 58C
Now, the idle temps don't bother me a lot considering the room temp, but the change in temps seems rather large compared to what I've read online about the heatsink I have. Anyone else have something comparable?

That is high. I don't think you should be seeing much above 45C with that room temp (and should probably be less). Have you tried the stock heatsink?

I'm not sure if this will be much help, but my X2 4400+ idles at 25C with Cool 'n Quiet turned off. It was about 23C in the room when I checked. I ran prime95 and saw the temp top out around 40C. Of course, my PC sounds like an air conditioner thanks to 3 120mm fans. I always thought that the stock fan/heatsink was plenty, what with its monster size and four copper heat pipes. Hope that helps.

I have a 4800, and those are pretty normal.

Well, I have a ThermalRight XP-120 with a Panaflo M fan, and my load temps don't go above 38 C. If heat is a big issue, you might want to consider changing heatsinks.

How's the airflow through your case? Is your case really cluttered or is it nice and clean? Do you have the recommended intake fan at the front and exhaust fan at the rear of the case, or is it just the PSU and CPU fans in there?

Hmm, I'm pretty sure at this point it's just a craptacular motherboard temperature sensor. I can stick my fonger at the base the the heatsink and it feels barely above room temperature ( which isn't the case with the VGA cooler I have when the reported temps for it are nearly the same as the CPU).

I use liquid cooling, and it still reaches those temperatures. I've also read that the X2's do get that hot.

My 3800+ usually idles around 34C and under load hits 40C with the cpu fan set to 50%. Usually works out to be about 29-30C and 35C respectively with the fan on full blast.
Yours does seem to be a bit high but then I thought that of a 3500+ that was idleing at 45C but runs perfectly.
