Please tell me that the Vechile Drop drops only light vechiles, not the IFV's, APC's and MBT's? Please?

On the subject of multiplay, what th Hell does "Forced TK" mean?

(I know what TK is...I'm just trying to figure out why punkbuster booted me)

You sir, need to be exposed to the sheer awesomeness that is OFP. The graphics may be quite dated, but I've played it constantly since December.

Then I had to reinstall and I lost the second install disk.

There is a massive problem with the server browser.

When you select a server it automaticaly quick refreshes the game and resorts the sever. So you click on a server automaticaly refreshing it and its going to resort itself. You have to sort servers by name in order to avoid loosing the servers, but it makes properly looking for servers near impossible.

I especialy loved the server pings that topped out in the 7 million range.

Looks like a lot of the badge and medal requirements have been reduced. Now if things that I aim at would die (a la CoD2), this would be a good game again. (I hate emptying an entire clip at someone, and they're still standing).

Here's one...I've been playing BF2 off and on for a year (WoW taking up most of my time) and I'm just a corporal. I regularly smite Officers(There was a 3-star last night that was acting really, really stupid. I wonder if someone was on his account) did these guys make rank from the sheer amount of time playing?

Probably. All it takes to make rank is to earn a certain number of points (and, as you get higher ranks, earn certain types of points). I wouldn't be surprised if some of those people basically grabbed a buddy, found a ranked server, and found some corner of the map to start macro'ing their way to higher ranks.

Anyone else have this patch start causing the game to crash. I haven't been able to play a game patched because everytime I join, it quits, and doesn't give me any message as to why.

Bad patch install. I had this with the past two incremental patches. Download the full patch (400+ MB) and install that (it will overwrite everything that's been patched - good or bad), and it should work.

Tried that once, I think I will have to do it again. Grrr... this is gonna blow. Damn you EA, if this game wasn't so damn fun when you are actually playing it I would have given up on it so long ago.

Yes... the time some people have to devote to this game is obscene. I'm a first sergeant, and though lately my playing has dropped off a bit, I tended to play the game probably a bit more than was good for me, and I was still left in the dust by other players.

And I wouldn't be overly surprised by whacking higher-ups. I cream colonels and majors all the time - rank progression can be offset by sheer time if one doesn't have the skill.

I met one of the high ranking three stars last night. He was NINE years old. I think that explains where he gets the time. As for the rest...

Ok, played a bit... no opinion on vehicle drop. Never noticed it much apart from a couple buggies.

Lowered requirements on the medals... eh. Ok, I guess, whatever. Badges, hough, suck. Joined a game and BAM, Combat Infantry Medal and Expert Knife Combat, right off the bat. The medal was nice, but I'd been working for the expert knife for quite awhile, had accrued the necessary kills and was ready to go for the in-round streak soon... and then they just slap it on me. Lame.

Red-name seems to be worse, if anything. Was pissing around a rear spawn and I got in the LAV there... then took a massive hit out of nowhere. After a couple confused seconds I identified as a tank hit and scanned desperately for its source, but jumped out knowing the next hit would come any second. Sure enough, my LAV exploded and this time I saw the tracer - it came from the "friendly" T90 not 5 feet away I had not paid any heed to, assuming (silly me) that someone marked friendly by the game was, in fact, friendly. By the time I figured it out I was dead. Lame.

I downloaded the incremental and it fubared my game. I'm getting this error message

Mods/Bf2/Shaders/Lightning.FX not found _DO_ check your working directory _AND_ sync your shaders before calling upon your local rendering prgrammer/go (really!)

When starting either BF2 of SF. EA tech help has been as useful as ever. Would installing the Full patch maybe work without reinstalling everything. I REALLY don't want to have to do that.

That's what I did when my incremential patch screwed up. The full patch should have all the files it needs to replace, and it will just overwrite what you currently have.

Mmmm..I don't really hold out much hope, but then I'm a cynical SOB. :)

However, since BF2 isn't working at all, there's nothing lost by trying. :)

Well Arrow, now BF2 is loading into the browser fine and dandy with no problems.

Still, I can't get a damned game though.

EVERY server brings up a message about "Unmodified Content" and reverting to the previous version.

What the hell is up here. I'm personally sick of EA using us as a bunch of unpaid Beta testers. From what I read, 1.3 has done nothing to help us, the Tiger in Euro Forces still flies like a brick, the red name tag bug is still present, rockets are still going through armour, but as long as cars are airdroppable thats ok.

Lovely, last time I got an "Unmodified Content" warning, I had to do a reinstall. Yesterday, EA did a rollback on their server code, and force a restart of all servers. I've seen monkeys write better code.

I really don't want to go through all the hassle of a reinstall, mostly for the fact that I'm at present operating BF2 on an alternate profile.

If I use my BF2 profile, the server browser displays on average about 1000 servers once I set my filters in.

Trying it on the other, I only get about 250 servers, but it says there my CD-Key isn't valid.

EA 'help' is as much use as a concrete diving suit.

really? I had no problems with my install.
