Incredibly Weird Computer Problem

Post by Noble Ire »

A few minutes ago, while I was browsing Flash-Games, my computer's screen blinked out, and then immediately blinked on again. Of course, it was inverted at a ninety-degree angle. I kind of freaked out, and instantly shut off the power, fearing hacking or some virus. When I turned it back on the, the inversion was still on, but I managed to turn it back to normal with my preferences menu. However, only a few seconds later, without me doing anything, the screen flips again. Now throughly weirded out, I change it back again, and then immediately shut off the computer. It seems to have stuck, and nothing else seems amiss, but I have no idea what happened. Any ideas?

Just so you know, if it happens again, you can reset it easily by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Arrow Up.

Thanks, I'll try to remember that.
I'm fairly certain my graphics driver is up to date, Destructinator, and the problem hasn't popped up again. Weird. :?

and just in case you were curious ctrl-alt down arrow will cause your screen to flip. It is possible that the flash game you were testing sent that command to you computer.

You quite sure about both of those?

'Cause I tried both of them just now out of morbid curiousity and they did exactly nothing.

It depends on the PC and graphics, I know it works on Compaqs but not on Dells
