Araaaaaaaagh(WinDVD Creator woes)!!

So yeah, I'm merrily making music videos on Intervideo WinDVD Creator, seeing as it's simpler and lighter than Adobe Premier and not as shitty as Windows Movie Maker.

Unfortunately? The damn thing produces MPG files of admittedly good quality, but of great size and troubles. Recompress it, you say? Good idea. If only VirtualDub didn't scream when fed one of them directly, throw FPS's all over the place when fed one of them through AviSynth, and generally not like them at all. If only VLC media player didn't seem to insist on streaming only the damn audio. *grumbles*

Any advice? I love the program, but these bloated files are grinding my nerves.

Have you tried Divx?
You can use the standalone converter on a trial basis.

Yep. Damn thing doesn't support the format either.....

Or rather, you need a $9.99 plug-in to support either the Mpeg-2 or SVCD formats, among others. I believe the vids fall under both.....

What file format do you want them converted to?
You could dump your finished files in Windows Movie Maker and convert them to WMV's.

Thanks, but no dice. Picks up audio only.

*dances into thread*

Go me! And go Glock, for setting me on the right path! The OFFICIAL DivX converter was too picky to take my MPEG. SimpleDivX, on the other hand, worked fine.

Yay! I can stay with my childishly easy-to-use program! Yay!
