Looks like an intriguing game and a lot of fun... The problem of course, is do I spend my money on this game without the benefit of seeing a review or even knowing if there are servers for it?

Yeah, that'd be a it. An online version of the classic "assassin" game.

I deleted Sheppards +1 post in the above.
Now then as for the game. I've been spoiled by Agent 47 and Mr Fisher, if the game were not so cartoony I might give it a try, but despite it's violent subject it seems catered towards a "PG" style audience.
Unless the game has any of the following
1. The ability to shove people overboard
2. The poisioning of food
3. Piano wire(I mean come on! You always need Piano wire!)
4. Remote mines/explosives of some sort.
5. A knife for the stabbing of people
Unless it has all of the above I don't think I could play it, so seasoned have I become.

Weird, when I played this game, it was a free mod for HL1.
Anyways, it's.... ok. You spend a lot of time walking around trying to find your "mark." If you do anything illegal and get caught on camera, you go to the jail for a bit. The problem with this is that the person hunting you knows this and can wait for you to get out.
You have to eat, sleep, and piss every once in a while (like every 30 damn seconds) or you die. I might be wrong, but I think the first person to kill their mark wins the round and it resets. There's a bunch of NPCs to deal with and they tend to act fairly randomly (They'll even strafe walk to look at you). So, if you're smart, you can look just like another NPC to the other players.
It has a lot of potential, but I could never get into it. And I damn sure wouldn't pay money for it when there's so many free mods out there. There were only like 4 servers when I played it around 8 months ago (maybe longer).

How is it a +1 post? The damn thing is steam-only, which is about as appealing to me as bubonic plague; or the latest version of Starforce.

Agian having nothing to do with the game itself. While Starforce desrves a mention anytime it's used with a game(Since Starforce is both maleware and spyware which pretends to be "video game protection") STEAM is nothing more than a distribution network.
(Side note:frankly I've had no problems on three computers with Steam for over a year now.)
This is not a Steam bitch thread and just because a game is released on CD/DVD and is aviable via Steam is no reason to turn every single Steam released game thread into a Steam bitch session.
Clear?

Sounds neat, though I hope its fixed up from what Fenix described - if this ship is of substantial size, I don't want to spend entire game sessions taking care of basic needs.
What'd be really nice, though, is if they took the basic concept of Space Station 13 and built the mechanics around that. Stuffing people into lockers, welding them shut and then shooting them out of mass drivers can only get better in 3D.
