Two quick questions about .bin images and media format.

I'm trying to burn images of Freespace 2 and I noticed under Nero and Alcohol that .bin is not supported so do I have to rename the extension or burn it as .cue?

Alcohol does gives me a set of parameters to set before I decide to burn but I'm not sure what to put as values in...

Is it fine to burn them onto separate DVD-Rs? I know it's overkill but will it support it?

Normally a BIN image comes with a CUE sheet file - and that CUE sheet is supposed to contain various parameters for burning.

:x There are no .Cues included with the .bin

I'm going to try and redownload them.

Just rename it to .iso and most programs should recognise it correctly internaly even without the .cue file then hopefuly. I know Daemon Tools does for one.

Or you can make a cue file. Open a blank notepad document, type

FILE filename.BIN BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00

save, then rename it's extension to CUE.

I don't know if it'll work, but it might be worth a try.

Damn, that's less reassuring than mmar's "hopefully". I'll try mmar's suggestion first as that's what I was thinking of possibly doing.
