DeadRising!

Post by TheMuffinKing »

I just played the Xbox360 demo for Dead Rising. This game is going to rock, hell the demo alone was enough to keep me occupied for an hour throwing cash registers at zombies!

Many evironmental stuff can be used as a weapon: flower pots, chairs, fire extinguishers, thats just the tip of the iceberg!

I can't wait for this game. The sheer number of zombies on screen at once is enough to sell the game to me. If the environments are as interactive as you say, Dead Rising has just jumped to the top of my 360 wish list.

I downloaded the Dead Rising demo last night. It's helluva fun. Zombie horde + electric guitar = bliss.

Did you find the zombie pushing a shopping trolley? You can snap him for an "outtake" photo.

T'is going to be this generation's Halo, methinks. I'm on the verge of hunting around for a good 360 deal right now instead of waiting until next year after I get the Wii and such like I've been planning, its got me so riled.

Any good custom track suggestions? I've been throwing a few up on the wiki the PA forumers have been running - Welcome to the Jungle, You Are What I Eat, Planet Hell, Sole Survivor, and Hanger and Entryway from Doom & Doom 2 respectively are all getting thrown on there the second my 360 comes in.

The only bad thing is that there'll be no kind of co-op despite that the game SCREAMS for it, but it's a small loss for what we get.
This has been another blunder by you friendly local idiot.

The whole point of Halo was that it had multiplayer, so no, it's not going to be this generation's Halo.

It's a really good and fun game, but I can't imagine going back to it day after day. For me it would be a rental rather than a purchase.

I thought this was basically going to be RE: Outbreak, but with a 2004 DotD twist to it instead. Still, sounds like fun, especially from the images I've seen.

I thought it was "ok"... I think it's being a little overhyped, imo. The demo was fun, but I can imagine the full game will be highly repetitious.

One thing I enjoy doing is firing a shotgun shell into a crowd of zombies, then quickly taking a picture of the flying blood and flesh fragments. It gets you a fuckload of points, and looks pretty cool as well.

I just watched the trailer, I don't know whether it was a lower quality for another platform, but the graphics really didn't look that good. From what I've seen of the premise, this is one of those things which tend to be a bit of a pet peeve of mine; stuff that advertises itself as, or at least appears to be, 'serious', but is really completely tongue in cheek.

How the **** can you interpret Dead Rising, a game that allows you to disable the undead by sticking traffic cones over their heads, as serious?

The graphics are actually reasonable, character models and texture models look pretty good once you close in on them, but the real point is the sheer number of zombies that are milling around at all times...

From watching the game intro video on youtube. It seems quite serious there, what with the young girl and her mother being eaten, and not a comical traffic cone disabling in sight.

That would be so awesome, it'd be like if they were able to put sex into ice cream.

I just watched the intro to this game, very sad. Although, instances like that would probably happen all over. Looks very serious.

If I gave you a cone of ice cream that had "sex" in it, I don't think you'd say it was awesome.

I too think that this game may make me buy a 360 sooner than I wanted to and before HALO3... but I love the zombie genre

Game looks good. Can't wait for it to come out on the PC.

Heheh, picked it up today and I've had a blast with it. My only complaint would be the save system, it's the usual save-point stuff but there's no autosave adn you can only save back at the security room or at one of hte restrooms.

On the other it was more than made up for the instant I stepped into a hardware store and found a half dozen chainsaws lying on the ground begging to be used.

Or even better, the Lawnmower I found out in the leisure park.

Yeah, the save points are a pain. Failing a mission over and over gets old too.

It's not an unreasonable assumption. Lots of X-Box games eventually find their way to the PC. KOTOR, HALO, and Fable all eventually came out for PC. Last I heard, so is Jade Empire.

Not that I know of. But I can wait. I won't buy a console just go to get a game.
