I was uploading an edit I made within a .txt file through CuteFTP and, during this process, there was an error and the program disconnected. When I reconnected, the .txt file was no more, but there was no a cached file present. The program kept disconnecting and that cached file eventually disappeared and the .txt file reappeared, but the .txt file was not complete. What's in this .txt file? I was keeping a list of quotations. Most of the data is preserved, but a notable amount of entries are now lost, entries that I worked to properly cite. I concede that I should have taken the proper precautions even this being the first time this has ever happened.

I want to know now if there's anything I can do to retreive the data as it were before this unfortunate incident even though I didn't make a backup for it.
