1900 nation based RP needs players

I am representing the interest of a forum based Roleplaying game known as Earth7. The forum is based on roleplaying historical nations in an at first historical setting then as paths diverge an alternate history setting.

After 12 years of playtime in game we are now in the process of a mini restart, which is a lull in RPing where we allow for new players to come in and claim unclaimed nations or inactive nations and allow them to catch up on history before RPing starts in full again.

While every nation(except for active claims) are availible for this restart we will require all great powers to be taken before minor or moderate powers are allowed to be claimed. We also request that all moderate European nations are claimed first before minor non European states are claimed but this is not required.

All inactive claims will be up for grabs as of Sunday 12:00 AM EST

Since we already had 12 years of history I will fill you in on the major events of the past 12 years. If you have any questions about an individual nation don't hesitate to ask. Also note this is not in perfect chronological order but instead of a general timeline:


Russo Turkish and Italo Turkish war of 1892- Italy and Russia declare war on the Ottoman Empire after the Ottomans began persecuting the slavs in Ottoman Europe and attack it on mulitple fronts in Europe, Asia and Africa. Persia joins sides with the Turks and launches a attack into southern Russia which ends in disaster. As the Ottoman Empire is on its last legs the British Empire declares war on Turkey and seizes complete control of Cyprus.

Peace Treaty of the Russo/Italo Turkish war of 1892- The Ottoman Empire agrees to massive land holdovers in order to keep core provinces within its Empire(notably some control over Iraq,) while Russia and Italy take vast swaths of land. OOCly: Our Ottoman player quit shortly after the war and the Empire remains thusly unclaimed. Though weakened the Empire could potentially restore itself using its more prosperous and loyal population base.

France's new economics then a coup: A new government is elected in France which proceeds to dismantle nearly 100 years of French development in economics and Imperialism as well as almost destroying the military. The government also attempts to remove rights established during the revolution. Vast portions of the French Colonial Empire are sold off. The French officer corp and many French citizens disgusted by the blatant displays of corruption stage a coup and bring about another monarchy in France. OOCly: The first act of economic decay was committed by one player who went inactive and the restoration of a monarchy was done by another to fix the problems. That player subsequently went inactive afterwards. It would be quite easy for a new player to restore the Republic though should he so desire.

The Austro Hungarian War: Britain angered by Austrian troop buildups demanded the cessation of the Austrian action. Austria backs down but Britain continues pushing the point culminating in an attempted invasion of Austria through landings in Croatia. In a move of foolishness the British fleet completely ignores the Austrian fleet and begins conducting large scale landings along the Croatian coast. Even with reports of the Austrian fleet steaming south Britain keeps their Med fleet unmoving around the landing sites.

The numerically superior Austrian fleet envelopes the British fleet which was unprepared for a naval engagement. The Royal Navy is thrown into chaos and attempt to flee abandoning their troops on the beach while the Austrians give chase. Only 5 British destroyers escape the battle. At first the British government seems willing to continue the war and makes public its desires to annex Slavic and German Speaking land, this leads to Russia and Germany preparing to assist Austria in the war.

In Britain a vote of no confidence takes place and new elections are called with the new government arranging a peace with Austria.

Chinese elections: China attempts to begin the process of becoming a democracy and holds elections in the mid 1890s. It is yet to be seen whether this new democracy will be able to survive.
