Ninty DS Browser: Worth Buying?

Post by Admiral Valdemar »

I just bought Brain Training today after thinking it'd help with a job application and generally because I can then justify playing games on it (it makes brain grow smrter). I noticed at the same time, however, that the Opera browser for DS was out despite me hearing nothing at all about is release. I expected it was an Xmas thing, given Japan only got it a couple of months ago.

So has anyone here bought it and, if so, is it really as good as the standard browser in functionality and ease-of-use?

I haven't tried it, but it looks pretty nifty (video review).

I own the japenese version, it's the exact same as the EU release just jap'oneed. I think it is a worth while purchase, you can surf the web, IM(from online javascript sites) http://moba.e-messenger.net , gmail, if you have VNC running(you can control your computer with the browser.), you just can't get flash, video/audio on it.

It does excatly what it's supposed to surf the internet.

IM function is good, I was expecting Java to be another minus like Flash. I may just pick it up then if I can justify two DS purchases in a month. :P

Whoa there tiger! "Java script" you can't simply go to the msn webmessenger page and login to msn.(That uses full blown java) the browser won't work. If you want to use IM you need to use third party sites, those are the only ones found to work with the browser.
