I've finally given up on my Radeon 9800 and sold its dodgy arse to a friend, so I'm in the market for a new card to replace the GF 4 MX440 I currently have as a stand-in. I've heard good things about the GF 6600 GT, but its a tad pricey, as my budget is somewhere around the £100 mark, preferably on the smaller side. My related spec is an A78XE Deluxe motherboard, 1 gb RAM and an Athlon XP 2800 2.08Ghz, so I'm probably looking for a 256mb card, if thats even possible for the price. Any ideas?

Huh? A 6600GT shouldn't be that expensive. I got mine for around $100 USD a year ago. :?

Weird, Dabs has it at £120...
Methinks I need to know where you shop. :)

Assuming you need AGP...

I don't know if newegg ships to the UK, though I don't see why they wouldn't.

Good question, there. AGP or PCI-E? If it's PCI-E, there's no reason to get an older card like the 6600.

If it's replacing an MX440, then it'll be AGP. For just over £80, you can have this AGP GeForce 7600GS, which'll knock the stuffing out of your MX440 and work with just about any game out there.

That 7600 looks the business, and for a great price too. Unless anything else appears I think I'll go for that, thanks guys.

YEah, the 7600 is what I was going to suggest. You might want to look into 7800GS cards as well...they've been dropping in price, and I know they're available in AGP.
