Anyone play it here? Used to be a big fan a few years back, ended up having to drop it after awhile, but I recently saw an ad for it re-released as WWIIOL Battlefield Europe. Has it gotten better now with the improvements like graphics and the brigade system?

It's still a VERY ugly game, and by Ugly I mean Half-Life looks ten times better, the only thing that looks good are the planes, and even then, they look good for their time, not acutaly good for today.
(Think Quake I quality, if even that)

Nevermind that it's World War two Re-1939 to 1942. Pretty pathetic for a WWII online game that's been released for that long.

I've tried playing with it when it was released, it was ugly and unstable and incomplete. Four odd years later it's ugly and stable and incomplete. Now? Even uglier and totaly stable, but still missing alot.

IT is missing alot. and far too "Realisitic for my tastes. But it is growing, there are alot of missions to choose from. The Naval system is pathetic and sad (You can be a riverboat or a DD, that's it.) the flight system is very complex. It's great for people who are in to flight sims. The infantry combat is quite good and the damage models are...insanely complex. I know I'm jumping aorund, but, the point is, is too deep for me, I need my stuff to be a *little* more arcadey.

Being a realism freak, I looked into the game last night and ended up installing a free trial mere hours later. I personally love it, but the learning curve is beyond steep and you had better have a great deal of patience. Graphics are poor, but it is a trade off. I understand that the mobile spawn point mechanic is new and drastically reduces the time needed to get into the fight. My friend and I entered the fray and were able to get the obligatory half dozen opening deaths in rapid succession before we started to pick up on things. Afterwards the cursed French knocked out the spawn, forcing us to return to life miles and miles away. Lesson: Do not walk anywhere. We quickly learned to hitch rides on tanks, which brought us to lesson 2: strafing aircraft very bad. I got in some tank time, though my infantry support quickly died off and it was only a piece of junk Panzer II.
