Making Source games use my custom resolution

I can run my desktop in a custom 1080p resoultion and higher but Source games refuse to use resolutions above 1600x1200.

This command-line should work:

-fullscreen -width 1920 -height 1080 -refresh 60

But it doesn't.

I have a XFX 7600GT XXX with 91.31 drivers.

Back when I had a GF4MX440 my monitor listed very high resolutions as supported, but ever since 44.xx drivers the max non-custom res my monitor would list is 1600x1200.

Have you tried changing the aspect ratio in the video options?

Well normally you should be able to go to the video options, change the aspect ratio to 16:10, and choose 1920x1080. According to steam help the proper command is -w, or -width followed by the width. My LCD only goes up to 1680x1050, and that switch did, in fact, work for me. Of course trying 1920 as a width didn't work (set it to 640x480), but that could be because my monitor doesn't support the resolution (though I'd have thought it would just cut the image off).
Try that, in any case.

Not sure if it will matter, but 1920 x 1080 is actually 16:9, not 16:10.
