Pretty... but will they get crew life right this time?
One of the first things I downloaded for SHIII was a quad length internal sound file. Base SHIII had twelve minutes of looping crew noises, inculding several minutes of silence. Some good ol mod maker added in over fourty minutes of clanks, clags, wooshs, hushed voices talking in german in the background and the like.
I want to see my dive officer and my men communcating as I shout orders! I want nobs turned, dials spun, and levers pulled when I issue orders! I don't want lifeless crewmembers glued to their chairs!
I want life! I want Ensign Clueless to swear when I leave him on deck-watch in harse weather. I want Seaman Spite, and Petty Officer Whine to complain while on duty if I leave them on to long! I'm not asking for the Sims, I just want people to react when things happen! I want my deck-gun crew to cheer when a merchant goes up in flames. Or pissing themselves/praying when the depth charges start dropping.
