Sony shuts down Lik-Sang

Well, we knew about Sony blocking ps3 imports to Europe, but now we know how far they will go. They shut down one of the major game exporters in the world, cause they also happened to offer their service on the EU.

Source

As if having products that are generally overpriced, underperforming, DRM ridden with crap build quality weren't enough, Sony has now decided you shouldn't be able to buy original stuff it doesn't want you to have in your contry from third parties either. Sony has now succeeded in putting major exporter Lik-Sang out of business. Good going Sony, now i have nothing but contempt against them, i hope they crash and burn on every aspect of their corporation.

Jesus Christ

I never, ever imagined them doing this. Lik-Sang? Seriously? After this, no self-respecting console gamer would piss on Sony if it was on fire!

What the hell are they thinking!?

Fucking wow, importing games from Lik-Sang was my way of honestly playing games not released in my region. From now on I will feel zero guilt when I consider pirating sony's games, fuck em

Mizuno, as angry as you must feel, you shouldn't write that due to legal problems that might arise.

Does the London court hold power in Hong Kong with an international treaty or some such? I would think over the years since, they'd be left unmolested there.

I guess this means that European importers should put their orders in with Play-Asia before Sony Europe goes after them.

You assume anyone on the continent now gives a shit about the console after Sony's total disrespect.

Who says they want a PS3? Thanks to Sony, you can now kiss your Wii imports goodbye, too

Lik-Sang not only exported Sony products, but pretty much everything console related on every brand and some lesser known items like the gp2x, and not only to Europe, but to the entire world.

Don't forget various Japanese-only titles, Sanwa arcade parts, Hori sticks etc

Man, just import them from somebody else.

EDIT: They better not go after Play Asia, since Uts and I still have to order our copy of Ouendan...

Well there's always the black market. Got any little boys or political prisoner organs lying around?

Now that you mention it... :D

I haven't been able to find a reliable source for US Wiis anyway, and there's no point importing one from Japan. Bah, stuck with AU-standard now. Trapped in the smallest title list ever.

Man, is there anything that Australians don't get screwed over with?

Trauma Centre is 'unknown' for AU atm, but the DS version never came out here. YAY for AU. Pfffft.

Tell you what, if you send us the money, we might be able to buy a system and ship it to you.

Honestly, why do you people buy console games?

From the notice on Lik-Sang's website:
but also Sony Europe's very own top directors repeatedly got their Sony PSP hard or software imports in nicely packed Lik-Sang parcels with free Lik-Sang Mugs or Lik-Sang Badge Holders,
The only way I can see Sony's actions making sense is if they are actually trying to kill the company.

The same reason we pass your mom around like a blunt in a party. It amuses us.

Sony is on the ropes, and they want to be able to squeeze every penny possible from consumers, free trade be damned.

What's interesting is that they've basically claimed that their power converters aren't up to safety regulations, even though they're the same for the system no matter where you buy it. Class-action suit, anyone?
