It's not. SW tech is at it's current level because of the age of galatic civilisation: space travel had been around for 100 thousand years, at the least.

But the Hyperspace Aliens were older and more advanced, and also had totally disappeared by the time the other species spread out into the Galaxy.

I dunno where they got their data, but TimeTales suggests that the release of the SW movies takes place 10,191 years after BSW...curious that that date is the same date from Dune
