SW planets

Post by Vympel »

I was just thinking, there seem to be a few planets I can't really classify in the Star Wars saga ... how would you best describe Naboo, Geonosis, and Yavin IV? It's just that Endor seems to take up the "forest" description, and after all, SW never has two planets that look the same.

Naboo: ?
Tatooine: Desert
Coruscant: City
Kamino: Water
Geonosis: ?
Yavin IV: ?
Hoth: Snow
Dagobah: Swamp
Bespin: Sky
Endor: Forest

SPOILERS:

Revenge of the Sith Planets:
- Mustafar: Volcanic?
- Alderaan: ?
- Utapau: ? Don't know if this is actually a planet- might be the name of Bruce Spence' character
- Kashyyk: supposed to be very high-tech, in a Wookie way

I think Naboo would be Plain/Swamp and Yavin 4 is different kind "forest" as is kashyyk, Geonosis is rock desert while Tatooine is sand desert.Alderaan would probaly be plain/city. Also I think Gas planet is a better description for Bespin.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

Naboo: Plain-Marshland

Geonosis: Mountainous desert

Yavin IV: Forest

Alderaan: (isn't your bog-standard habitable planet? Much like Earth, how do we classify Earth)

Kashyyk: Forest

Terra would probaly be the best description for Earth (apart for no-brainer "Earth-like"), so that would probaly be your descrition for Alderaan.

I always thought Yavin was "jungle". It sure looked like one to me.

Bruce Spence's character is named Tion Meddon, IIRC.

If "Jedi Outcast" is to be believed, pretty much. It's got lots of swamps and ferns and tropical plants and stuff.

Anyway, is Yavin the name of the star or the gas giant? Is Yavin IV the gas giant, or the moon? If it's the gas giant, what's the name of the moon?

Yavin is the name of both star and the planet(IIRC) and Yavin 4 mean the fourth moon of the planet.

Utapau has been described as a "sinkhole" planet. It may also possibly be a mountain planet.
