Questions regarding Caamas and Alderaan

Post by Dark Primus »

Ok without the planet of Alderaan were there any other inhabited planets, orbital stations or installations somwhere else in the system?

I have heard the planet of Caamas was reduced to ash by bombardment from orbit. But except from the planet itself was there any orbital stations or installations somwhere else in the system?

Caamas was destroyed and every single ship in the system was destroyed, leaving no witnesses. There may well have been stations, but they were all nuked. It was a swift attack, wiping out the planet and killing everyone and destroying every ship and station before anyone had the chance to spot the attacker.

In the case of Alderran according to the Illustrated Guide to the SW Universe, General Carlist Rieekan was was off-planet, inspecting a new satellite transmission system in far orbit around the planet Delaya when the Death Star entered the system.

Rieekan wanted to warn his homeworld to evacuate, but feared that doing so would alert the Empire that Alderran knew of the Death Star's purpose and that would blow their status of neutrality out of the water. He held back, hoping that it was just making a show of force, but of course, Tarkin wanted to take things another step and * Boom * went Alderran.

Other than that, there have only been two visits to the Alderran system in the EU since then: X-Wing: The Bacta War and one of the Young Jedi Knights books.
