Actually, he explicitly denies its used by the Imperials- can you believe it?

Heh, the thing that made this so funny, was that the IGN intro-guide to the game mentions explicitly how much the Imperials loved the tank and just modified it from it´s Republic form, because it was so good!

LOL, I´m sure he did it just so he could point and laugh at the stupid "tech-fanboys" who obsess over stuff like this. :P

Fuck him, he's still wrong- the game explicitly shows it in the Imperial arsenal, that's good enough for me.

From teamxbox.com:
TX-130T Fighter Tank

Utilizing the old philosophy “if it ain’t broke, make it better anyway,” the Imperial Department of Military Research modified Rothana Heavy Engineering’s TX-130S Fighter Tank. The new TX-130T maintains many features of the old design, but packs a little bit more of a punch than its predecessor.

The TX-130T’s repulsorlifts are much better tuned for quick maneuvering, while adding a slightly more impressive weapons layout to the old design. The TX-130T is well suited for pushing the front lines forward.

Size: 8.2 Meters long
Max Speed: 193 Kilometers per hour
Crew: Pilot, Gunner
Type: Medium Assault
Faction: Galactic Empire
Note, on the OS the T-version is attributed to the Republic...

Because it is a rehash of the EU sdtuff that is disproved by the films. Go read Brian's Turbolaser commentaries to see it get torn to shreds.

Seems like the PLEX series are like the ATGM launchers we have available like Javelin merged with MANPADs like Stinger.

Then you have the MiniMag PTL which seems to be like an advanced RPG (analogous to the Russian's RPG-29?), whereas the Rebels are using the ancient but ubiquitous HH-15 projectile launcher (sounds like a recoilless rifle to me)--analogous to the endless hordes of RPG-7s?

I just did.
Like I said Most is not all, Chewies could be an exceptionally powerful bowcaster that can do over 50m, but most aren't that powerful.

And how do you explian the fact that its shots are sometimes transparent when the projectile would be solid? And how does it launch it when teh string never moves?

You got me on the first but I beleive the diagrams on the bottom of the commentary shows some kind of magnetic launching thing? Basically the string doesn't actually need to be there its just for show. Besides I was mainly arguing the 50m range thing.

Okay, question then:
Since Chewbacca's shots have been observed as having no visible arc in the shots, we know that the shots aren't simply falling short and hitting the ground. So what happens to the bolts after 50 meters? Do they disappear, or what?

There are two possibilities:
1) Chewbacca's bowcaster is an effective demonstration of the characteristics of bowcasters in general, and we can thus apply the observed behavior of his weapon to similar weapons. [my theory]
2) For no explainable reason, Chewbacca carries a magic bowcaster which fires quarrels that defy ballistics and travel in perfectly straight lines despite the presence of gravity. All other bowcasters are, for no explainable reason, completely different. [your theory]

Now. Which one makes more sense?
