Return of Darth Vader (SW DVD EXTRA) **SPOILERS**

Post by Stravo »

Has anyone seen this featureete. OH MY GOD. The duel looks like its going to be fucking amazing. Did anyone see the snippets of it they did show? Anankin looks so intense and in fact seems like he's crying during some of the duel. There's alot of punching and kicks thrown in.

They were not kidding when they said Hayden and Ewan were working out for months to get themselves in shape and practicing the duel.

GL also gives us a hint on how Obi Wan wins.

"Obi Wan is more experienced and skilled than Anakin, but Anakin is more powerful."

Amazing stuff and need we get into the Dart Vader suit. From the looks of it, Vader and the Emperor appear together as the final shot of the featureete shows Hayden in the Vader suit standing next to someone in black robes and a hood.

NOW I'm excited to see this movie. (Says alot about the prequels that the sole thing I find that they are clearly superior than the OT are the lightsaber duels.)
Wherever you go, there you are.

Yeah, that last snippet promises to be interesting scene for ROTS, especially since I wonder where it takes place(blasted Blue Screen)

Also I believe they've shown pics of Anakin getting kicked by Obi Wan in the mid section and falling off.

But all in all it was a great featurette.

I saw it as well- looks cool. I'm not too bothered by the whiners complaining about the lack of the ANH "red eye" mask, or that the tunic doesn't cover the chest armor as in ANH or whatever. It's Vader, through and through. Also, Hayden isn't just standing there, he's restrained. Look at his wrist.

It could either be the "operating room" seen in a leaked production art (which I believe I still have), or a "resting chamber" after Vader´s surgery. Must be the place where he´s said to throw up a Force Storm and wreck things....

Heh, maybe the ANH-suit was like a "special" uniform he wore when serving alongside Governor Tarkin.

Also recall that ROTS takes place 18 years before ANH; Vader could easilyundergo an upgrade to his armor or a fashion change in those 18 years.

Maybe he´s superstitious: "Dang, I didn´t wear my cape under my shoulderguard, and my black-eyed mask was getting the polish back at Coruscant. No wonder the Death Star blew up!"

Anyone notice the I guess you can call weird move during their practice fights, Anakin with his back facing Obi blocking a slash using the blade downwards along his back, looked like an Obi sidestep type attack to his back deal, just interesting what he's going to toss him into face first. Also the mechanics of blocking with an overhead behind the back parry, that's some strength not to kill yourself right there. I'll try to post screens and timecode info.

Obi Wan makes the same sort of block against Darth Maul in episode 1. Guess we know where Anakin learned it :)
