I'd beg to differ, the Thrawn duology is also good, most books after and beginning with Star by Star have so far been good, Aaron Allstons work is in general Zahn level class work, especiall his Enemy Lines duology, heck I'd say it's better than the Zahn triology in places.
HDS, your sad devotion to that awful EU has not allowed you to conjure up a greater series than the thrawn trilogy nor has it given you clairvoyance enough to foresee IF there will EVER be another good EU book coming down the pike  (Preparing to be choked as HDS tells me he finds my lack of fiath disturbing)
My sad devotion to this sad piece has given me a richer universe, even *some* of the stories indvidually are bad they all contain good stuff that is added to SW as a whole, this alone is reason enough to like SW.

I have no fucking idea what they are talking about either and I have Destinys Way, this looks like some fanboy on drugs rambling on and on.

Dark Empire the original was ok, 2nd one was pretty bad. Reissue cleaned up, and make a companion novel trilogy and games, like what was done with Shadows of the Empire.

What they should really do, is have a brief 2nd edition commenerative EU books with canon mistakes and unrealistic situations edited out (everywhere "eight kilometers" is present, replace with "about seventeen and a half kilometers" for example) on the 15 year anniversery since Zahn's trilogy. That, and clean-up and reissue Marvel in Trade Paperbacks.

Issue ICS for SW4, 5, and 6 independently as another comemerative. Issue ICS for notable SW series. ICS for Thrawn Trilogy, ICS for X-Wing Series, ICS for KJA's trilogy, ICS for awful Corellian Trilogy (just so we can have some of those ugly fighters and the Centerpoint Station in there), and one or two ICS for the NJO. Issue ICS for the Sith War comics era and Hyperspace War. Begin a new pre-Republic, pre-hyperdrive series where we see SW ancestors using Warp or something similar and Subspace technology  (issue ICS for that too). Issue all new and improved/revised Essential Guides as they've begun with the new characters guide. Make these accurate with regards to canon and calc. Publish the Technical Commentaries.

Anyway, such bad authors shouldn't be allowed to write EU material. Soon, they'll be putting Treknology into the novels, adding technobabble, and start calling the YV the "Pusan ", because the writer is always high.

I hope we can see a turn for the better in the near future.
Ikrit made his prophecy just prior to his death in Edge of Victory 1. Anakin Solo was killed in Star by Star, which also featured a kid looking exactly like Anakin Solo. He was also mentioned in the Rebel Stand & Rebel Dream books, but has since disappeared (kind of like a lot of things in the series).

Master of Ossus, what was the prophecy? I haven't read Edge of Victory in a while.

It's been a while since I've read it myself, but IIRC it's about Anakin and Tahiri having a special destiny together (or something)...

I've only read Conquest once and I remember Ikrit mentioning some prophecy but what it was I can't remember. Tarc is the little boy. He's a few years younger than Anakin though and he was all throughout the Enemy Lines Duology (believe it or not, I'm reading this duology for the second time, because I WANT to. Damn, something good from the EU?). There's only two books since. One is Traitor which was almost entirely the Jacen Solo version of Dark Journey. Then there is Destiny's Way. Tarc went goes off with Wolam and Tam at the end of Rebel Stand, and Destiny's Way is pretty much about Jaina and Jacen and the revival of the New Republic. So there hasn't been enough time to really get into the Tarc thing. Then again whatever the fan ramblings are, if they do bring Anakin back, then he'll first appear on Courscant or Yuzhan Tar and pick up his lightsabre. He'll contain Vongness in him and be able to actually feel the Force in them. Mainly because the heads of the NJO order can't just simply have the Jedi fucking sense them in the Force. Not like it's some god damned impossible task to write them actually gaining an ablitiy to sense them. Not to mention that it's been just some cop out to using the Force and being able to do a KJA and throw the Star Wars universe back into Lucas's face. So last but not least, I hope Episode III sits down and shits all over the EU once and for all. buwhahahahahaha

I'm a canon completist, and fully support the EU but I'd like there to be some key reforms. But I support EU.

I can't really figure what they're doing wrong. They needed to stretch themselves to make the Jedi vulnerable, sure, but the series should not be as weak as it currently is. They're getting some of the right authors (or, at least, the reputedly good authors), but something isn't clicking properly. Maybe it's just the transitions between writers that they have to have after every few books, but something isn't going properly.

The switch of publishers couldn't have helped the already disorganized mess.

Not to be impolite, but to me, this sounds ironic as it comes from a forum member who has fighter from the EU as his avatar...

Oh, God, please tell me that the storyline for 'Rebel Assault' I and II isn't official, at all, ever.

It's official, and part of continuity. Sorry.

Silent exclusion of all TIE fighters from that implication, because they're just plain cool. :D

Bah. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Although the Phantom TIE does look cool.

You now have half a cake, not a cake.

P.S. By I should've said NJO and anything by KJA, but I couldn't be bothered.
