Running Blind

Post by Cal Wright »

This topic is another form of symbolism in Star Wars. I just had a startling revelation about Han Solo and his role in the trilogy. Throught ANH and ESB, Solo was keeping an eye out for himself and was worried about his mediocre stature in the Hutt crime syndicate. As we see he goes into the darkness by the end of ESB. While through the first two movies he was anxious to get out of the Rebellion he was caught up in thier affairs. Then as RotJ goes, he comes out of the carbinite blind. As Luke and company fight to save him, he decides to help out the Rebellion in what is the most crucial way possible. Leading a small strike team on an impossible mission. So by this, I see Han Solo's self centered ways as running blind, and it's a literal fact at the last movie of him being blind and then coming to see everything.
