Doom Giver!!!

Post by Knife »

Ok, I've had JKII for about a week now and just got to the cut screen where you see the Doom Giver undock from the station. OH MY GOD, I LIKE IT. It seems a mix between Griel's stardestroyer(whatever type that is) and an Acclamator. Any way, that was one hell of a good cutscreen. :D  :D

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

That scene was bad ass. Watching it descend was incrediable. You could just feel the 'oh shit' in the air on that one.

That ship was fucking huge! Nothing compared to an ISD, but it was huge! Speaking of the Doomgiver, who here likes to play the detention center level just for the little mini-game where you shoot the TIEs?

Yeah. You know the detention level where you find Jan? There's a bridge in the second room. Go through the first few areas, kill everybody, and once you have the security key, go back and unlock the door on the bridge, go down, kill the guy and the shadowtrooper, and press the switch where the guy was standing. It switches to a view where you control a laser cannon and Kyle says something about a gun like this doing real damage in the wrong hands. You have unlimited ammo and a bunch of TIEs will fly by below you.

IIRC, it was considerably larger than an ISD.

Well, in the level before you actualy walk up to and into the bridge section of the ship. Using that as a start and eyeballing the ship from the vantage point of a couple km away, the bridge section is rather small in comparison to the rest of the ship. With out percise measurements though, I would say that the Doom Giver and a ISD are roughly comparable in size. Barring of course any incosistancies of the size of the bridge section in the cutscreen as compared to the size of the bridge section in the cargo level.

When you're in the Doomgiver, the bridge is pretty compact. Two levels, in a single room. Not like the Executor's bridge in TESB.

It's a very nice ship. If you scale the ship with the pods (which can be scaled by using AT-STs it turns out to be about 400-500 meters.

It seems to feature only moderate armament, but has a fairly large fighter complement for it's size, possibly to support planetary invasions with them.[/img]
