This is the only source I know of for the transports. Supposedly it can carry 30,000 people, and I can barely remember how small people appeared when stepping across the boarding ramp next to the beast.

Oh, man, and just when my copy of the AotC ITW book is in CR with me stuck in IC over the weekend...

If I recall, in the still from the film on the starports page shows the Starfreighter and a CEC Action VI freighter good enough to get a rough feel for how big they are to each other. An Action VI is 125 meters long, and the AA-9s look to be somewhat (but not a whole lot) larger. Maybe about the size of a Corellian Corvette, about 150 meters.

No, they are clearly bigger than that. I remember reading something, I'll check it out.

Just a little sidenote, aren´t those airbuses (cylinder-shaped transports with two frontfins and rearfins) awfully small to be carrying people? Maybe they´re just for cargo?

Can you get some images of it on Naboo with the Action VI?

Using the still on Naboo provided by Firefox (many thanks, by the way) and another image I found elsewhere, the AA-9 really doesn't seem that much larger than the 125 meter Action VI (although volume-wise it seems to be at least 2-3 times more massive). I personally stand by my guestimate of around 150 meters.

Browsing through Google, I've so far found one Dutch (I think, looks like German but with silly stuff) claim a length of 1290 meters, but that's just absurd.

http://216.127.78.103/~dutch-starwars.c ... ighter.htm

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that it's Dutch from the URL, but at the time Google cut it short so I didn't know.

Heh, it's funny that I can just sort of read Dutch due to my now-dwindlingly poor knowledge of German... :)
