Which is more likely true.
Because Dooku countered with the battledroids outnumbering him a 1000 to one.

Well either way it was not the present.pecker wrote:More of a possible future. And that seemed to be more because it was something bad happening to people he cared for.His Divine Shadow wrote:Yoda said "what you see is the future"
Which is why the Jedi Order ultimately failed. And with leaders not willing to take the steps to establish and army of the Republic early on, the Republic ultimately was weakened and would fail.Admiral Piett wrote:Still the lack of a military deterrent makes peacekeeping more difficult and in the long term, impossible. What if someone says: We do not accept your solution for the disputes and we are going to seize our objective by force. What will the Jedi do in that case? Common sense dictates that in that case the republic could summon the force of the member worlds or raise an army.Otherwise the thing simply does not work,at least in the long term.neoolong wrote: The thing is that there will never be enough Jedi to constitute an army of the Republic. Which is why they were never intended to be one. They may have to do battle, but never in an actual extended campaign. When they were forced to in AOTC they had to resort to using an actual army. They solve disputes before they escalate into war. That is what they were trying to do in TPM. They try to keep the peace, but if war did break out, they are in no way able to stop it by themselves.
The problem is that they should not have lasted that long.Maybe before the clone wars era the republic was willing to do such a thing and this acted as a deterrent.neoolong wrote: Which is why the Jedi Order ultimately failed. I think at one time the Republic did have an army. I remember that there was a line along the lines of "the Republic hasn't fought a war in thousands of years." Of course, the Republic is a lot older than that. So they probably had an army and over time, with no continuing threat, a Republican army was disbanded and disputes were solved at a smaller level, sometimes with Jedi.Admiral Piett wrote:The problem is that they should not have lasted that long.Maybe before the clone wars era the republic was willing to do such a thing and this acted as a deterrent.neoolong wrote: Which is why the Jedi Order ultimately failed.
