Palpatine killed Padme?

Post by Shogoki »

I've been reading about this theories about how exactly Padme died, since she was not physically injured. My explination, Palpy killed her, after all, we know he was capable of slowly draining the life away from the entire population of the empire. He somehow knew Vader had attacked Padme, and he knew Padme was now dead, he also was powerful enough to know Vader was in trouble, even while he still had the upper hand, so great distances and time dont seem to be a problem for him.
So, he sensenses Vader attacking Padme, and he knows Vader is going to lose, so after Vader lost, and he's just lying around dying, he cant really feel Padme anymore, Palpy takes over, and starts killing her slowly, while he makes his way to Vader, they take it to the hospital, they dont know why, but she's still dying, they operate, get the children out, obviously giving birth only makes her weaker, so she dies faster.
Now she's dead, and Palpy just boldly blames it on Vader, to make him feel even more gulty and make him easier to control. Vader says he felt she was alive, but i always got the implression he was refering to the moment he stopped his attack on her, he didnt kill her and he knew it, but now he's dead, and he's getting blamed for it, that's enough to frimly push him into the dark side for decades to come.

There are discussions of this sort already.

But suffice to say, probably not. She had just gone through shit and a half and she simply gave it up and died. Childbirth isn't easy and between that and the trauma she suffer it's not unreasonable that she simply gave up. People can die from seemingly insignficant things when they just give up like she did.

I thought it was pretty clear that Darth Vader killed Padme. People look far too deep into these things and constantly miss the obvious.

There's a few ways to look at the reason why Padme died. They've all been stated, but I thought I'd summarize them anyway.
1) One view is that she simply died of a broken heart, so to speak. Her love for Anakin was so deep, that the changes in him simply caused her to lose her will to live.
2) For the slightly less romantic and slightly more mystical, the strength of their relationship formed a bond in the Force that tied them together, and the non-literal "death" and actual suffering of Anakin Skywalker caused her actual harm through the Force.
3) For those who don't have a romantic bone in their body.. Vader's Force Grip attack wasn't just physical, but also damaged her Force essence somehow. This damage caused her death.

Whichever way you look at it, Anakin is responsible for her death. I don't think there's any other way to look at it.

It'll ruin the story if anyone other than Anakin was responsible for her death, anyway.
