Rumors During the OT Era

Old-timers out there? Does anyone remember what kind of rumors were floating around after ANH came out regarding the characters and the storyline?

I wonder if anyone made any elaborate attempts at guessing, as did some did after Matrix and Reloaded. Were there any fake scripts floating around?

Please link them here, along with any old rumors pages (like someone decided to write them down and post them online for nostalgia). I'd like to be entertained.

Though i have no links i can still Remember some of the rumors People disgussed after A New Hope.(i was only 7 but a total SW fanatic at that time)

1 : One of the biggest rumors (belive it or not) was " The empire is Completely defeatet after the loss of the Death Star and if they make a sequel it will be about Luke,han and leia hunting down the last imperial "Darth Vader".
And if you asked them about that Emperor guy they would just say "He was probally will less puppet controlled by Tarkin and Vader.

.(this was in fact a argument in old Movie Magazine my brother used to read..never have anybody been so completely wrong )

2 : Also i remember the same magazine having several post regarding : who's gonna "win" Leia - Luke or Han, and the general oppinion was that Luke would win and Han would die.

I seem to remember that one of the earliest Star Wars EU stories was about the developing romance between Luke and Leia. That got shot down, as one might imagine.
