Why the OT is waaay better than the new trilogy

I liked that line. Dooku's a great character. Every line of dialog he speaketh is like gold to me. He's a pompous old-school cultured ex-Jedi Sith.Slartibartfast wrote: Characters lacking in depth and charisma.
Bad dialogue. Bad lines ('oh it seems our knowledge of the Force won't win this by itself, so, en garde little green smurf!')

He said it well, but as written, it was just bad... it was VERY like the lines of Darth Helmet ("I see your schwartz is as long as mine, let's see how you move it" or something like that)Vympel wrote:I liked that line. There are hundreds of things he could have said that would have sounded better. In fact just looking pissed and turning on his saber, saying nothing, would have been better, IMO.

My main problem with the new episodes are the design...it sucks!
I hate Naboo with its "Roman Empire" buildings. I like that style in real life but no matter what Lucas says, it doesn't fit in the SW universe.
Same applies to the Naboo fighter as well.
Idiotic looking battle droids and gungans...
The helmet of the clonetrooper is like a firefighter's helmet...
Almost everything is in good shape...where are those scratches and burn marks?
Geonosisians looks like idiotic winged imps. The whole "enemy design" sucks.
I don't like the any of the models of the new episodes.
In the OT we've seen a simply, "edgy" design which was definitiely far better looking.
On the other hand, when we saw the OT we thought Luke is in the center.
Now everything has changed and Anakin became the main character and the six episode will rather represent a good man's fall and return.
Someone mentioned that ESB and RoTJ were far better than ANH and TPM.
I think ESB is the best, directed by Kershner.
The funniest thing is that in ANH and TPM Lucas personally directed a lot of parts...and they're not so good!
I respect him for creating a fiction like SW, but as a director he gets 3 on a scale from 0-5.

And Jar-Jar isn't ALL that annoying. He's mainly there to fill in for 3P0 as comic relief, and Han as 'the guy that just makes things happen'.
