Not really. The Battle Droids were doing just fine, at least until Anakin got off that shot deus ex machina style. Unless you seriously believe that Maul could have helped prevent that.

Or he even could have shot down all the N-1s in the Sith Infiltrator. He should have been seen USING the ship. lol
