Do we ever get a date for the Star Wars saga? Has the EU or Lucas seen fit to deliever unto us a calendar, or year? Is the universe dated from the beginning of the Republic? The Reformation? The formation or Fall of the Empire?

The EU bases its chronology around ANH as year 0. I don't recall any calendars internal to the continuity, though.

I believe there is some mention that the NR counts the date basing year 1 as the death of Palpatine and the declaration of a New Republic.
