I don't know why people take his work seriously when it's obvious that he has no real methodology for scaling anything. He just grabs the most easily referenced figure with no regard for where it came from.

You could almost wonder WHY HE BOTHERS for the same reasons. For anyone who doubted the Galactica's size, they're right. I scaled it myself and (I think) I got 4280 feet/1304 meters, but unfortunately I can't open any of my scaling images. I used a similar method to one that this person used, using only the Viper and its launch tube model and the Galactica.
The new Galactica is of a similar size, however, and I do have this image comparing it to an ISD and a GCS.
