For the Galaxies game expansion. Obi-wan was focused on Luke, it makes no sense that he would mentor other students as a spirit. Then, again we have Rann going to Dagobah and learning the ghost trick from Yoda. Another, incosistency better explained by having Qui-gon teach him instead.

As far as the Fett wank goes, I distinctly remember Fett cutting loose and throwing everything in his arsenal at Vader and still having to resort to threatening to kill them both and the head with a grenade to save his own life. Even Sith Lords have to consider the ramifications of a thermal detonator or similar device blowing up in their face...
