Very interesting read. Also explains why TFN is the way it is: its run by a Fundie.

Read the interview with Joshua Griffin:
Joshua Griffin wrote:I’m a father and youth pastor. I live in the OC and have been a Star Wars fan since the very beginning.
After that Scott and I started MovieHeadlines.Net, which was eventually rolled up into ComingSoon.Net where Scott still contributes. Part of the struggle in both of them for me was having to cover movies that sent an inconsistent message about my faith. Star Wars is pretty safe, so that’s where I went back.

So they decided to let religion into the matter? Jeez... this is very virulent of them isn't it? And I suppose all of us are considered infidels and should be burnt at the stake?Lord Pounder wrote:Might go a long way towards explaining their over hostility to SDN regulars.Galvatron wrote:I know at least one other TFN staff member is a creationist.

Whoa, whoa, wait. I dislike Fundies as much as anyone, but I think some people are a little quick to label him that just because he's a youth pastor. There are different grades of people who are youth pastors, just like any person in any religion, and I think it's a bit hasty to start blaming religion just because some people here hate it and it's now connected to him. Some people are able to not drag their faith into everything they do, and seeing as there aren't Bible verses plastered all over TFN or even any other indications of his religion apart from this interview, I think he might just be one of them.

I see you missed my quote above:DesertFly wrote:Whoa, whoa, wait. I dislike Fundies as much as anyone, but I think some people are a little quick to label him that just because he's a youth pastor. It isn't the youth pastor as much as it is the second statement wherein he saysDesertFly wrote:Whoa, whoa, wait. Not exactly the cleanest seperation, and this interview is hardlty the first time where he brought up religion into this bit either.

I've known Josh was a fundie ever since he used the frontpage of TFN to rant about how evil landoverbaptist was. It seems he has no sense of humour about it, which can only mean that he sympathizes with the exact sort of brain-dead fundie bullshit that landoverbaptist was designed to mock.
