Ok, this is split from this other thread: I've proposed a redesign of the ISD to compensate for the lack of gun coverage on the back and ventral sides.

ISD Mark III:

Added medium turbolasers behind the bridge tower, facing aft, both dorsal and ventral.

More heavy turrets on the ventral side, to better protect the hangars.

And no windows!! the rooms can decompress when they're hit!

You should add more all over the hull. For those targets that are too strong for LTLs but not worth the effort for HTLs.

More heavy turrets on the ventral side, to better protect the hangars.

With the hugely powerful weapons SW has, won't a wall do the same?

What are you removing to make room for these additional armaments?

Adding heavy weapons to the ventral side is not a good idea. They just consume power and if you want to deploy them you have to show your more vulnerable hangar side to the enemy.
