Possesion

Post by dragon »

I was wondering is it possible to use the force to posses an individual. I was thinking you see the jedi's as glowing blue figures sorta ghost like.

Second stupid question. Do the sith get glowing red figures if they stay.

Works in the Jedi Knight games.

No all force ghost I've seen have been blueish, as for the possession part yes though it's far from typical (and was a dark side skill IIRC)

I might be wrong, but I think that when Palpatine jumps bodies in the very end of Dark Empire (and ends entering the body of Empantajomaryos Brand) his body vanished and he became a reddish bolt of "energy".

At any rate, the whole taking over the bodies of the living appears to be difficult. Exar Kun didn't quite pull it right and Nadd claimed that he would need use of the alchemical equipment of Naga Sadow to come back to life with a new body.

True; Dark Lord Marka Ragnos used his possession ability only as a last resort to ensure his bodily resurrection through the power of the Scepter of Ragnos in Jedi Knight II: Jedi Academy. We can safely conclude that either it is so hard and draining to do that the Sith Lord didn't consider it a viable option unless absolutely necessary, or it wouldn't be permanent (at least with a full-grown adult; most certainly Palpatine and the shades of the Sith Lords on Korriban considered the possibility of possessing the infant Anakin Solo to be a viable option for Palpatine's long-term survival).

Also don't forget Callista Ming, who took over the body of Cray Mingla in "Children of the Jedi".

true, but Callista was lightsided, meaning the body she took wouldn't be corrupted like Palpatine's Clones were (or Tavion's body after Ragnos possessed her).

Tavion was messed up long before she shared a body with Ragnos.

true, but the corruption caused by Ragnos' spirit was what killed her (or as it was put in the game she couldn't contain all that power)

as for Callista in addition of her being a light sider, you should also remember that possession there was more or less santioned by Cray (aka the orginal "owner" of the body)

Palpatine was going to posses the body of Anakin Solo as an infant as I recall.

While on the subject of being possessed through the Force, the Wizards online article on the ancient Sith Lord Dathka Graush mentions that his spirit possessed the body of a shipwreck victim named Nalz Felyood. Here's what the article said about that:

"Naz Felyood was possessed by the spirit of the long-dead Sith Lord Dathka Graush, and the experience altered the Corellian's body. Felyood no longer ages and heals naturally at ten times the usual rate, even without rest." (Korriban: Planet of Lost Souls)

Interesting, eh?
