Inform the ignorant!

The ignorant being me.
Where did Palpatine get his start as a Sith? Who was his mentor, or how did he train?

We know little to nothing about Palpatine's youth.

We don't know his first name. Or if there is one.

All we know is Palpatine is from Naboo. He was likely abducted at an early age, just like Maul was. According to GL and the EU, that's the procedure for Sith training.

We don't know who his Master was.

I think it would be cool to leave it that way, having things fleshed out often leaves a bad taste in my mouth.(TPM, Enterprise, Klingon civilization as seen in ST, Dune prequel novels..)

Palpatine...may have a first name(not even sure EU has done it yet)

Also no idea of training or anything except he was the latest in line of Sith Lords and had some political ambitions.

Seriously they have kept his origin more cloudy and secretive than anyone else's...hell there's more on Thrawn then there is on ol' geezer.

That's been overriden last I heard.

They interviewed George I believe he was quoted as saying Palpatine has no first name.

The radio thing at theforce.net is a fanfic.

I remember his name being 'Cos' in one of the early scripts I read.

The New Essential Guide to Characters just has him listed as Palpatine.
