Here's something I've been wondering since reading the thread: if the line was "Obi-wan killed your father" to keep the secret, what did they use to replace "Together we can rule the galaxy as father and son" on the set?

I don't know, that scene wasn't included in the shooting script. Probably replaced "as father and son" with "side by side" or something like that.

It could easily have been stitched together in editing with a JEJ VO and a shot of Vader opening his fist. No need for a line to have been said in its place while shooting.
IIRC in the storybook and novel there is a bit where Vader starts to pick up the falling Luke with the Force, then drops him. The shot could have been lifted from that cut sequence.
