We deal with multiple issues here. Anakin having the potential of being and Palpatine being the most powerful Sith ever. Couple that with Yoda being the avatar of light and Obi Wan's awesome skill of the Force.

Sure, you can point to both Yoda and Palpys on screen performance to say...well you's the man. However, according to the novel, Obi Wan had indeed reached an high level of Force manipulation to the point that he and Anakin were bitch slapping Dooku around and psyching him out totatlly. Obi Wan could become one with the Force, as he was in his fights with Grevious.

The trick here is the motovations of the Force. Measuring A against B or C or even D is useless when you think of the Force as all, ABCD. How do you have a begining without an end or how do you have a cure with out a disease? Yoda is the establishment meant to fall, Palpatine is change and/or chaos (take your pick) with Anakin being the change/ cure from change. Obi Wan is what is best of all of them. Willing to change as need be but loyal to the core tenents of what makes good good. Anakin is really just a plot device to interact between all of it.

Why? Palpatine is still alive and IIRC the whole reason the Jedi were having problems with using their powers to their fullest extent was because Palpatine used the darkside to cloud the Force.
