The latest poll got me thinking - who WOULD win in a dogfight? Luke or Boba?
This is Luke pre-Dagobah, BTW. Both have full weapons loadouts and full shields.

Luke wins- the X-Wing is more maneuverable than Slave I, and Luke's a good pilot- he led Rogue Squadron before Dagobah.

Whoever gets the first missile lock, which is more likely to be Luke. His fighter is almost certainly more agile and likely faster as well.

In a "fair fight", Luke wins. He's a better pilot, and even if he isn't, he can't be very much worse than Boba. Plus, the X-wing is a military fighter/bomber designed for dogfighting other fighters, whereas the Firespray is a police ship designed for bringing heavy firepower to bear on freighters/shuttles. The Firespray can do well against fighters if it gets the drop on them or if there is a large disparity of piloting skill in favor of the Firespray.
Oh, and before anybody starts saying "Boba will win because he'll catch Skywalker unawares," stop right now. Remember, as with all other vs. scenarios, it's not a fair fight if one contestant doesn't even know he's in the fight. And even if it was, remember, the Force will be with you, Luke. Always.

In open space, Luke wins big time. (He is an Ace Pilot.) In astroid fields, space ports, etc., it would be much closer, maybe tipping towards boba. Fet is certainly a devious bastard, espiecialy in ambush.

The Slave-1 is as fast as a Y-wing. It's not a hot-rod but Fett compensate it with his pilot skills.
