ESB - Degobah Question

Post by Ro Jo-Mu »

The Area on Degobah that is strong with the dark side of the force, is there a reason for it being so? Did some major bad stuff happen there or is it just a random occurence of dark side collected in one place?

Suposedly one of the Bfashi (sp?) Dark Jedi from the Clone War/Early Empire Period landed there. It's possible that when Yoda arrived on Dagobah, they had a fight and the DJ was defeated, leaving behind the Dark Side Nexus in the cave.

Which worked for Yoda, as the Dark Side energies nullefied his Force signature.

At least I think.

As the book explained it was like a positive and negative charge meeting in close proximity. From a distance they seem like no charge.

IIRC, it's Bpfasshi...yep, confirmed. It was a Bpfasshi from Bpfassh, a star system near Dagobah. Their tyranny led some species to have a perpetual distrust of all Force-users, including light-siders.

This was cleared in Zahn's trilogy.

Several dark jedi were defeated at Bpfassh. One of them escaped and hided on Dagobah. His presence altered the tree that Luke had to enter in ESB.

When Yoda arrived at Dagobah he defeated the dark jedi. Their "force radiation" nullified each other. That's why Yoda was able to remain unsensed on Dagobah.

BTW in Zahn's book Luke found a datacard or a plate with a sign on it, which was in the posession of the late dark jedi, but it was never cleared what was on that?!

Does someone know about it?

Lando said it was a beckon call to a slave-rigged ship. He said that it was probably used by the Dark Jedi to call his ship before Yoda defeated him.

Yeah it was the beckon call of Talon karades old boss Jeord or something. What age must Karade have been if he was at his prime back at the end of the clone wars?
