Kurgan: they're drawn from the Stormtroopers.

Our only visual sight of two Royal Guardsmen's faces. They looked very similar. Their probably drawn from the clones in general if they're all clones, or the "crack troops" clones in Wong's theory.

Yes, I know.. from the EU. But doesn't AOTC present contradictory evidence to the fact of them being drawn from the Stormtrooper ranks (which would have been the "clonetrooper" ranks from Kamino at this point)?

If the canon and the EU contradict, which source do we look to?

We could I suppose, retcon it like we might the Stormtroopers:

Well, they're not ALL clones, some of them are recruited from the general non-clone population... or these were the "best trained" clones or something, or heavily modified to be even better clones...etc etc

Or when we see them in AOTC they're NOT clones, but they're later made into clones (a reverse of a stormtrooper theory: at first they were clones in the prequels, then they added non-clones in the classic trilogy, so now they are mostly recruits).

What's so difficult to believe that their simply an honor guard-precursor to the crack Royal Guard of the OT?

I don't see any big discrepency or contradiction at all. AOTC guards are NOT Royal Guards by definition. Like I said, an honor guard-precursor.

Even w/ the "mostly recruits, crack clones" theory, OBVIOUSLY the best of the best will be drawn from the clones with a few exceptions.

I don't see any big discrepency or contradiction at all. AOTC guards are NOT Royal Guards by definition

Which is the honour guard precursor? There's the Blue Guards under the jurisdiction of the Senate seen in both TPM and AOTC and the Red Guards under Palpatine's direct control- there's no change in the Red Guards between the PT and OT, or am I not paying attention?

Its very possible that there are no more clones in ANH because Kamino was the proud recipient of a Star Destroyer visit. Why would the Emperor take the chance of someone else using the Kamino facilities after the end of the Clone Wars. Waste the planet and ensure that no one else will be able to use them.

I'm just saying its likely the Red Guards in AOTC were probably Senate Guards personally and privately trained extra by Palpatine.

The Royal Guards of the Empire were super-trained and perfected soldiers from the best of the stormtroopers.

The Red Guards were commissioned before any of the Kaminoan clones were done w/ their 10 year accelerated growth cycle, plus it'd be hard to hide the fact they were clones.

The Red Guards of AOTC are the asthetic and conceptual honor guard-precursor to the elite Royal Guard of the OT, IMHO.

Very true.

Especially since GL has signed off to Dark Horse to write an "Attack on Kamino" comic.

Even if the Seperatists are unsuccessful, it is unlikely that Palpatine would continue to utilize one single measelly compromised world.

I remember reading in a couple of places (sourcebooks, mostly) that the Imperial Guards were selected personally by the Emperor from the most decorated and loyal Stormtroopers...

with 10 million planets in the Empire I'm sure more than just Kamino are capable of cloning an army.
Kaminoans are good cloners, not the only cloners

This is true; I've discussed at length that whichever stormtroopers were clones, whether they were a crack troop unit or the whole thing, are likely secretly made one numerous worlds in the Deep Core.
